My word, things sure have picked up around these parts this summer! Sadly, it's this innocent ol' blog that has suffered. So, I'll be picture bombing the old girl over the next couple of days. To kick things off, the lovely "L" family returns with their yummy little men!
Mr. Big Stuff here met me at a local nature reserve for some good old fashioned boy fun. We saw birds, frogs, trees, sticks, dirt, rocks, and way too many bugs (mosquitoes aren't supposed to be out yet!). We played in it all and had too much fun. It was great to spend some time with this busy boy and his beautiful mama, whom I'm lucky enough to see when I get my hair done here.
Miss Raquel was so much fun to spend the afternoon with! Her fun and quirky ways are right up my alley. I think it's a theatre geek thing. Anyhoo, she gave me one of my fave photos ever. Can you guess which one. Oh, how about which one embodies why seniors are so much fun?
There seems to have been a shortage of baby boys lately. Have no fear, the boys are here! I was able to spend a chunk of my weekend with these two little men. Here's a little preview of my weekend double dose of cuteness! More of these two to come.
Here's a few more of sweet Miss Bella. She is such an alert baby already at 16 days new. We did manage to get some sleepy pics, especially when she was snuggled up. Her mama and daddy love her so much and have taken to parenthood wonderfully. Such a sweet family!
One of the things I love about what I do is getting to see relationships unfold and being part of some very special times. This mama (and daddy, too) has to be one of the most laid back, loving, and stylish people I know. I was so excited to do her maternity session and even more excited to do baby Bella's newborn pics. At 16 days new, she is one of the most alert newborns I've ever seen. Her mommy is such a natural at the whole motherhood thing and I think you can tell Miss Bella knows it and loves her all the more. Really, I just couldn't wait to post this image. More to come!
It was quite a blustery day in these here parts the day of this session. To top it all off, Mother Nature couldn't decide if she wanted to drop rain, sleet, or snow. This couple sure made things warm and cozy with their excitement and cheery home. Their bitty boy will be surrounded by so much love when he arrives. I truly enjoy being welcomed into my clients' homes for these maternity and baby sessions. I believe that being photographed in your own space adds such a wonderful element to the images, especially at such a personal and joyous time. Thanks for a bit of sunshine on an otherwise gloomy afternoon!
And a couple final family pictures without the itty bit...
I looked half this good three days before giving birth. This mama (and papa) are so amazing and Miss Bella (yes, the "?" is now known to be a girl) is one very lucky girl. I hold her mama personally responsible for any inkling of style my hair has had in the past three years. Don't these two just exude a sense of calm happiness? Congrats, B and K, on your new package of perfection. This seems so long ago now, dosn't it? I'm sure she'll love her teal room and doggies!
I love working with people of all ages. Every age group is different and equally wonderful. There's nothing like the curl of a newborn baby, the mischievous smile of a toddler, a teenager preparing to take on the world, or the warmth and love of a family. I am an on site photographer. Just name your favorite spot and I'll be there. I prefer to use only natural lighting to capture a natural you. Life is not posed, so you won't find me pinning anyone to one spot. I have been known to lay in the grass, play 'peek-a-boo', make silly faces, hide behind a tree, or even climb one. Whatever it takes to make you or your little one comfy and feel at ease. For me, it's all about freezing a moment in time.

My passion for photography grew the moment my daughter's first birthday pictures came back blurry thanks to an old point and shoot camera. I was no longer satisfied with just "snapping a pic". I wanted to capture a moment in time. All my memories would no longer be blurry unless I said so! So I bought my first SLR, began my education, and the rest is history.
