When this mama emailed me about pics with the challenge to get a family pic and some good ones of her four active kiddos, I was ready to go. I love these sessions because they remind me of my own little herd. It's nice knowing we aren't the only "big" family around. Aren't these little monkeys so cute!?
It took some schedule twisting between illness and surgery, but we made it happen and I'm so glad it did. Despite the wind, we had quite a good time and I was happy to get my baby fix with the little lovely and have some chat time with her mama.
I had so much fun with Alyssa and her mama on this senior shoot. She was up for anything and so easy to get a great shot of. I had to keep my joke suggestions in check because she was pretty much down with anything I said. Luckily, she paused when I jokingly suggested jumping into the river at the end! Every time I photograph a dancer, I wind up with new dance faves. What a gorgeous young woman, inside and out!!
Mr. Grant is 6 months old! I swear, he was just a nakey itty bit at our newborn session. Look at those big blues! He's such a handsome guy. I love watching my swaddle to toddle babes grow!!
Amazing Jaclyn is a local senior who provided far too many faves to put up a small preview. I've been watching this beautiful ballerina dance for the past 3.5 years and was honored to take her senior pictures. She travels all over the country every summer as she studies with top dance companies and schools. However, her heart seems to be set on the Great White Way and I'm sure she'll be wonderful. I met up with Braden and his proud mom and dad at his home and we had some fun in the cool, autumn air. Of course, the sun and all it's warmth appeared as we were wrapping up, but he was quite a trooper. Love those baby blues!
The local arboretum has become one of my favorite session locations this year. I met up with this lovely family of five for a fun-filled evening in the sun. The last time I met up with them I was only taking pics of little Sam, but this time I got the whole family. They're all so photogenic! I love the in between, real shots, especially when they remind me of my own family...like this first one. So fun!
Meeting up with 3mo old Jax was so fun. I got my sweet baby fix in and even had fun with his big sis. He gave me loads of handsomeness and she showed me where he gets his smiles from. What a blessed family with such adorable kiddos! I'm so lucky to be repeatedly invited into the homes and lives of so many wonderful people.
The J family is absolutely wonderful! On top of having a wonderful, giggle filled time during our session, these kind people came my way by purchasing a silent auction package at a benefit for this handsome guy and his family. We even got to do some animal watching during our session when we spotted 5 deer on the nature reserve where we were. I love capturing the fun, happy, playful moments. I think I'll save the especially funny pics just for the fam, since the laughter in the moment would be lost on anyone not there for the joke. :)
I love working with people of all ages. Every age group is different and equally wonderful. There's nothing like the curl of a newborn baby, the mischievous smile of a toddler, a teenager preparing to take on the world, or the warmth and love of a family. I am an on site photographer. Just name your favorite spot and I'll be there. I prefer to use only natural lighting to capture a natural you. Life is not posed, so you won't find me pinning anyone to one spot. I have been known to lay in the grass, play 'peek-a-boo', make silly faces, hide behind a tree, or even climb one. Whatever it takes to make you or your little one comfy and feel at ease. For me, it's all about freezing a moment in time.

My passion for photography grew the moment my daughter's first birthday pictures came back blurry thanks to an old point and shoot camera. I was no longer satisfied with just "snapping a pic". I wanted to capture a moment in time. All my memories would no longer be blurry unless I said so! So I bought my first SLR, began my education, and the rest is history.
