What I've been up to

Well, things have been crazy busy. I'm excited to see some repeat families in the upcoming weeks as well as some new ones. I'm always on the hunt for more newborns, so if you know any expectant mamas... I have couple of competitions coming up as well as a possible postcard deal. This could prove to be a very lucrative vaca! So, here's what I've been up to, a little vaca, a couple sessions (including an older one that didn't get posted), and all of the landscape images may be purchased as fine art prints. Just contact me if you're interested!

I even got to spend some time with my awesome little sis, who flew out from ID to vaca with us.

Farewell

Today officially marks the start of my week long vacation. I am swearing off all things work related for one week to enjoy some quality time with those who inspired me to start do this in the first place. I'll see you all on the other side of my vaca!

Flowers+Fish=Fun

This family of four was so incredibly fun to photograph. I loved following them around our local arboretum! Mr. Curls was so excited to explore everything and I was just lucky enough to be able to capture him in all his little boy glory. His baby brother was fascinated by the sound of my shutter. Once he was awake and heard that sound he sure perked right up. They are such a fun loving, easy going family. Do you think it shows?

This sight made me think we just might be done, but then he gave me the face you see in the side by side. Now, who says boys' moods don't change quickly!

*I'm having dull color issues when transferring to the web:( This happened once before. Hopefully it gets fixed really fast!

The Adventures of Flugle and Booper

That was the name of the spring dance performance I've spent the past couple of weeks working on. I was able to go to rehearsals and then photographed dress. It was amazing! The owner of Attitudes Dance by Aimee prides herself (as do her students) on putting on a true performance, not just a recital. This show had a full on storyline and the dancers all had characters that they portrayed. I photographed the advanced level numbers. These girls are so very talented! Take a look at the narrowed down preview.

En pointe

I had the privilege of photographing the beautiful teenage assistant of my daughters dance class. It was picture day and I'm not a fan of the super posed stuff, so I took my camera along to get some more real shots of my little dancer in the other studio. This all happened spur of the moment so all the other dancers’ bags and water bottles were everywhere, but it was still so much fun! Lovely Miss H came in with here amazing costume and I went to town. She asked me what to do and I said, "Show me why this is your favorite costume and why you love to dance." I can't wait to go back with more girls and a studio void of bags!

Yes, I made most of them black and white. Very colorful dance bags and costumes in the background can be distracting!
